Kimball & Cody Posted by Picasa

Upcoming Event

On Sunday July 2nd, the Marten River Volunteer Fire Department is having an "All you can eat" pancake and sausage breakfast from 8-11 am., at the Rock Pine Restaurant. Tickets are $7. adult, $5. children, and under 5 years free. Come on out, enjoy breakfast and support our fire department.
Recently, Dorothy Cloet at Beaverland Camp had 3 very interesting visitors stop by and stay the night. The man was Kimball Foord, his 7 year old quarter horse named Cody, and his 11/2 year old Austrailian Shepard dog named Cheyenne. He is travelling across our country on horseback to fulfill a dream he has had for many years and raise money for the Canadian Theraputic Riding Association (CANTRA). CANTRA helps make it possible for children and adults with disabilities to experience horses first hand. Horses seem to have a healing, soothing and communicating power with many people. He then travelled north to O-Pee-Chee Lake Lodge and stayed the night at Terry and Suzanne's. He left the next morning headed to Temagami. Kimball has a website at www.ridefordreams.com, where you can keep track of his progress.
