Our Quilt

I suppose I better show all of you who haven't seen it this quilt, what I've been talking about. I've posted the picture I had of it on a bed. That shows it off the best I think. It depicts the wildlife, scenery and activities in this area and all of us did a different square. It certainly was a work of art!

Mother's Day

I want to wish everyone a happy mother's day. If you have a mother still with us, be thankful, and give her a call or go and see her. Give her a hug today. I get envious of some of you who have their mothers. I miss mine terribly. I got a call from my son today to say my daughter-in-law is making him clean up all his boxes of stuff in the garage. He is a hoarder and they are cleaning out some of the clutter as a present to her for mother's day. He still has stuff in boxes stacked to the rafters that he moved out of our house with 17 years ago!
I hope your day is great.

Dinner in Temagami Pictures

Many thanks to Rose for providing some photos she took the other night when my batteries "died". She's a sweetheart for sending these over to me.
I must mention that Lorie Hunter (Exec. Coordinator) of the Temagami gave an very interesting talk at the beginning of the night on what their organization is all about and the people and projects they have funded recently.
We sure had some good laughs.

Dinner Out in Temagami

Our windup, (or winddown) dinner, whichever way you want to look at it, was held on Wed. evening in Temagami.
A lot of laughs and a rip- roaring good time was had by all who attended. So much was accomplished by our little group during this past winter.
We learned how to make Christmas centerpieces from mostly the natural materials found in the woods around here. Our thanks to Sheila who showed us how to put them together.
We made our quilt to raise funds for our volunteer fire department. What a success that was! Many of us learned so much from sewing our little square blocks with our own original ideas and imaginations. With all our blocks put together, we made a beautiful, wonderful quilt.
We learned how to make many crafts, thanks to Madeleine. Some of us learned the art of making Ukranian Easter Eggs thanks to Diane.
My thanks to Rose Riley, who's going to send me some pictures of our dinner. I will post pictures as I get them. As is "Murphy's Law" my batteries died the other night and my spares were also "dead".
I'm looking forward to getting together during the summer for a "tour" of some of our beautiful gardens here. Many of us our also looking forward to making a "stepping stone" at Lois' house next month.
I will post with any new news I hear over the summer. Thanks to all of you who are such great friends and "sisters".
