Winterfest
Another successful Winterfest was held on March 18th and it was a fun day for everbody. The pancakes were delicious along with sausages, juice and coffee. The dogsled rides also proved very popular. Quilt raffle ticket sales were brisk, as was the tickets on the beautiful watercolour painting by Lois. Young and old alike enjoyed the bingo in the afternoon and the popcorn, courtesy of Dorothy was yummy. There were chainsaw demonstrations and contests for the kids. There were some interesting duct tape creations and many colouring entries from the kids. It was a great opportunity for friends and neighbours to meet and visit with each other. Many dedicated volunteers and hard work made this day wonderful.

I dropped by the fire department last Saturday and there was a work bee going on. They were very busy and I got some photos as they were working. Things are progressing well, but there is a lot more work to be done.
This coming week everybody will be concentrating on getting the fire department building ready to host Marten River's annual Winterfest. There will be lots of fun for everyone on March 18th.
I hope to see a lot of you there.
